I hope you had a good New Year! You set your goals for 2024 and now you are ready to get at it! (Sure.)
We have heard the saying “People do business with people they like, know and trust.” Knowing is the easy part; liking might be a bit harder. All you have to do is be a nice person and remember all those rules you learned in kindergarten, so don’t be a jerk!
The hardest of the three is getting people to trust you. Thomas J. Leonard the founder of Coach U created along with the assistance of a number of Top 10 List subscribers who participated on the Create a Top 10 List TeleClass Marathon in June 1997 developed the “Top Ways To Have Potential Customers Trust You Enough To Buy.” I have to thank my friend Michael J. Stammer, Coach, with providing this list.
- Reduce fear by eliminating doubt.
- Be gracious and caring vs. hungry and uncouth.
- Focus on what the buyer finds interesting about your product.
- Ask questions that get you enough information to understand the buyer, what they need and how you can help them.
- Be a walking example of the benefits of your product or service.
