Good Day
Opinions. Everyone has one, especially about your business and wants to give it to you whether you want it or not. You’re told you’d better take it and use it because, well you can fill in the blank.
Let me give you my opinion (ha, ha). The only two opinions that really matter are 1. your opinion of yourself and your business and 2. those customers of yours whose vote is cast with their wallet. NO ONE else should matter! Not your family, neighbors, friends, employees, especial not your competition, peers or vendors!
“What! But, they’ll think ____(fill in the blank).” Are they paying your bills? No! The only ones who matter are the ones paying your bills. Sometimes I hear “I can’t send that, what if my prospects don’t like it?” Well, if they’re prospects, not clients, and haven’t voted with their wallet ie. paying you, who cares what they think!
Most opinions you should ignore, but there are some you should trust, use as a sounding board. You know who they are. Just watch out for the opinions that are unfounded and unreliable. That’s one reason why I’m such a big fan of Mastermind groups and being around other successful business owners and entrepreneurs “who get it.”
