Packed Leads Groups!

It’s the second week of the new year, and the networking groups I attended were packed. This was good because I got to meet new people.
The packed groups were part of what I call the networking roller coaster. During the holiday season almost no one shows up. In fact, one group stopped meeting for the last 2 weeks of the year. Everyone is too busy celebrating the holidays to think about business.
Then all of a sudden, the holidays are over. People go back to their businesses and realize that because they took two or more weeks off, they have no prospects in their sales funnel and they need business quickly to pay the bills!
People will come to networking and leads groups for a few months and then, because they are not getting sales quickly enough, their attendance will start dropping off. For a month or two, just the regulars will show up and then attendance will climb again, but not as high as the first of the year. People will try it again for quick sales or to make an appearance “just in case.” It will drop again during the summer and pick up again in the fall, until Thanksgiving and then, you guessed it, fall again.
Most of this is because people have no plan; they don’t know what they are doing!
A good sales/marketing funnel should be working all the time so that you always have potential sales. Parts of your funnel should be working automatically around the clock. This allows networking and leads groups to be one of many entry points into your funnel and not just a quick sales shot.
If you don’t have a sales/marketing funnel, then you need to develop one now!
Until next week,
