Here is a good growth strategy for you to use if you want to grow your business with quality customers. It’s called the “Dream 100.” You may have heard about it. Sometimes it’s know as the Dream 25 or 50.
There are two ways this works: 1) You take your top customers and try to duplicate them and from that develop a list of 25, 50 or 100 prospects that you go after. 2) You come up with a list (names) of businesses or people that you want for customers and target them until they become customers. A dream list works best for B2B businesses.
As a B2C business, how can you use a dream list to help you grow? You can come up with a dream list of businesses that can refer multiple customers to you. Also you can look at your customer database, see where your best customers live or work and develop a list of similar neighborhoods or work places.
Now in order to make this work, you have to do your research on your current customers; you need to dig deep and really find out as much as you can about them. You might even have to spend money and use a service that will add data about your customers. Once you have the information you can again use the same service to duplicate them or find similar neighborhoods/work places.
Once you have your list you must also do your research on this list. Learn as much as you can about them. Then you are ready to develop your mulit-step plan of action with budget to convert them into your customers.
Finally, execute your plan!
