Happy New Year and welcome back. Yes, the subject line is from Monty Python’s Flying Circus and it speaks about what I am doing and how it affects you.
Over the past couple of years I have been reading and attending seminars by many experts in my field. I have also purchased very costly marketing and informational programs and products to learn how to market businesses better, looking for the next secret or tip that will help me and you increase business.
At the last conference I attended, I made sure to go to the seminar led by one of the top experts in direct mail marketing. I had been reading his writings for a while and now I would see him in person and maybe learn “The Secret.” What I found was that I already knew it. A few weeks later at my Mastermind meeting I was wondering why the direct mail marketing expert was the expert.
I think I know as much as he does, I said. My coach, a marketing expert in his own right, said, “You do, but he markets his knowledge and he tells his story better.”
I read a lot of books on marketing and most of them claim to reveal secrets or supposed secrets about marketing. Most of them give you basic or second-level information. So far, I have learned more through research or personal experience than what can be found in those “Secrets Revealed” books.
That got me to thinking that I need to showcase my knowledge. And what better way than to write a book? I’ll be writing this book by way of these weekly marketing tips. Each week’s tip will be part of the first draft of the book. This book will have some of the basics but just enough to make sure the reader understands so that they will grasp the more in-depth tips that I will share.
Four other changes that I will be instituting very shortly:
1) I will be available for speaking engaments; I will be listing the topics soon.
2) I will be offering consulting services by the half day as well as on a continuing monthly basis.
3) I will soon make the Past Customer Activation System (PCAS) available to help you keep your current customers current and make past customers active again.
4) I will also be offering those businesses that really want to play at a higher level the Stand Out From Your Competition marketing system.
