Your Great Offer?

Good Day
I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas!
A client of mine sent me a draft of a marketing piece that they are going to send to prospects offering them a highly discounted item, but they missed a few great opportunities to make it a better offer.
First, they did not list the regular price of the item, so the reader does not know how much of a great deal it is.
Second, if it’s highly discounted already, why not just offer it for free or reduce it down to just a very small token fee? Some might say we have to charge something to cover our cost. But let me ask you this: If you charge them, say, $10 to cover your cost so you can try to sell them what you’re really selling at $275, won’t it be worth it to give away the $10 item to get $250?
One major point to keep in mind is the offer itself. It has to be something that your prospect wants or thinks they really need, not something that you have lying around and just want to get rid of, or that is worthwhile only to you.
