Good Morning
Recapping, I have been writing about who your competition is. You have direct and indirect, and you are also your own competition!
Now how do you deal with them and turn them into Not your competition?
Let’s deal with your direct competition. One of the first things you have to do is do what they can’t or will not do. Analyze their weaknesses. From there you can change up your own products/services if needed. Change where you sell and/or market to including the media used. Also update your processes and your performance (service).
Can you offer a new product or service, or can you sell to a new market? What about the media your competition is using; are you using the same? Is there a better one or the one your marketing is using. What about your sales process? Can you change from advertise-to-sales to info-first advertising for lead generation so you sell in a vacuum.
Also can you own your own category? You can be number one and the only one in a category by redefining everything about the service and products you provide. With these new definitions, you are all alone, and therefore you have no competition.
Finally, you could turn your competition into Co-petition, where you co-exist with one or more of your competitors in a friendly amicable way and maybe even do business together.
All this makes your business better able to stand out from all your competition.
