Good Morning
I have written about how to develop more effective copy for all your promotional needs. I should have covered this first, but I did not so let me discuss it now. Before you start writing your first word you need to think about who you are writing for.
You as the writer need to have a clear picture of who you are writing to, in other words, your market. Is it a current customer, a past customer who hasn’t used you in a long time, or a prospect who has never heard of you or your company? Writing for each of these is different, and using the wrong tone or voice will get you no response and could drive people away.
When writing to prospects you really need to know who your target is. Good copywriters will even put up a photo of their typical consumer so that they can refer to that person in their writing.
They will know the targets’ age, income, where they live, what social media they frequent, whether they have a family, hobbies and lifestyles.
The more specific you can get, the more you will hit home with your copy. This translates into a higher response rate, which means more sales!
So now you have it. Develop a profile of who your target is as complete as possible. Then write your copy to that profile, using what you learned in past tips.
If you need help in developing a profile of your customer or prospect just give me a call at 817-616-5155 or contact me by using this link and I’ll be glad to help you.
Till next time.
