The Wheel, The Wheel

Good Morning
I was going to write about what I learned at the GKIC Marketing & Money-Making SuperConference, but I got a phone call the other day that would make a better marketing tip.
The call was from a friend who helps out a non-profit organization. He heard about another group that ran a fund-raising campaign and wanted to do the same type of fund-raising. He asked me a bunch of questions and then I asked him some. He wasn’t sure about a lot of things, such as did they (the other group) send their mailing to a cold list or current patrons and donors? How many mailings did they do,  What amounts did they ask for, and what did they get for their money?  What was the true response rate, how much did they give and how much per person?
He did not have any answers to those questions but seemed to want to get started. Instead I basically told him he needed to do some research. He need to contact the group that did the fund-raising and get my questions answered and have them send a copy of what they mailed out (most non-profits will share this information).
Most important, I told him not to reinvent the wheel.
Most business owners think that they have to go it alone and develop everything by themselves. They don’t; they can develop their own swipe file. They can also be part of a mastermind group, get a marketing coach, go to conferences that are outside their industries and a lot more.
Remember: There is no reason to reinvent the wheel!
Till Next Week –

Remember – Great Things Happen, But You Have To Take Action, NOW!

PS. Next week I’ll share some of what I learned.
