Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Most of the time I plan for the worst and hope for the best before the event, sometimes during. Then there are times when you have to come up with a whole new plan.
This was the case recently. The pizza shop had a booth at 4fest (Bedford’s 4th of July fireworks show). We were led to believe that a lot of people would show up and would be hungry. Not as many people as we hoped showed up, and most had brought their coolers with them.
The store is now overstocked with chicken wings and pizza. What to do? Have a sale. Offer 12 wings for $6.99 and offer a medium cheese pizza for $4.99, a pepperoni for $5.99 and the works for $6.99.
The hard part is getting the word out quickly. We put it out on Facebook and other social media, we are getting the portable sign changed with this offer. We printed 2,000 flyers going to area businesses and homes, plus we will be emailing our customer base. And we are tracking all of it to see which works best.
