Don’t Spend Time With Your Peers!

Morning;

I spend about 3 weeks a year at marketing conferences, and not one of them is with my industry peers. In fact I don’t spend a lot of time with other direct mailers.

 My time is valuable, just like yours, and I want to gain knowledge and new ways to market businesses so I can help you. I don’t have time to listen to people tell me how bad business is or that such and such is killing the industry. Or that’s not how we do things in our industry.

 I spend my time with other industries and people learning what is working in their industries and how I can apply it to my business and, more important, how I can use this to help my clients.

 So this week’s tip is to go attend some other industry’s marketing conference. When you pick an industry, look for the person who teaches marketing to the best of that industry and go to their boot camp. It might cost you a bit, but the education you get is worth it. It has been for me.
