One Way to Stop Lost Sales

Have any of your customers or prospects ever said to you, “I didn’t know you did that?” This is usually said after you have found out that they used someone else for a service you do. Don’t you just love it? I guess you never want to turn to them and say very loudly, “Of course I can do that, what do you think I do?” or something like that.
Now I know what I’m about to tell you will not make you happy. After the above happened to me and I realized the answer to the problem, I was not happy either.
Your customers and prospects doing business with someone else is your fault! Yes, your fault, just as it was my fault. And we have no one else to blame.
But there is a way to prevent this from happening again. All you have to do is keep in contact on a regular basis with your customers and prospects and tell them all the things you do.
One of best ways to do this is through a printed monthly newsletter. Not only can you run a list of all your services, you can position yourself as the expert that they need and highlight your customers at the same time. You can also list your services on your literature and business cards.
On the back side of one of my business cards besides mailing and printing services I had listed;
  • 3D/Lumpy Mail
  • Custom Mailing & Printing Services
  • Monthly Customer Retention Programs
  • New Customer Monthly Acquisition Program
  • Integration of Internet & Social Media with Direct Response Marketing
  • Marketing Appraisal
  • Demographic Profiling
  • Membership in Monthly Marketing Consultancy Program
  • Customer Lists

You can do the same. Now what are you going to do to prevent “I didn’t know you did that” from happening to you?
