What You Can Learn From An Auto Dealer

 Sorry about the loud statement. Sounds like the radio and television commercials for a local car dealer doesn’t it?

 But they know something most of us either must have forgotten or don’t know. Events are a great reason to promote your business or have a sale!

 Every holiday, car dealers and furniture stores have events to draw people in. They make money by doing so, and you can too.

 But, Phil, my business is different, you might think. I have one word for that: NO! Everyone likes to save money! True, you might be in a highly regulated business like selling stocks and bonds, but you can have an event as well. You can give out free food (everyone likes free food), information, all kinds of stuff.

 You don’t even need a major holiday to have an event. You can have an event because it’s your birthday, 1/2 birthday, spouse’s birthday, kids’ start of school, end of school, anniversaries, anything. There are special causes: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In fact, there is a web site that lists all types of holiday, www.holidayinsights.com.

 Now you have to promote your event. You can use humor, dogs or cats, kids, babies, holidays, causes, a great story. And you can get the word out using email, Facebook and your web site, that is if your customers visit those sites on a regular basis.

 You also need to include oversize full-color postcards, because they can uncover hidden desires from people who might otherwise not get your emails or visit your Facebook or web site.
