Selfies and LinkedIn

Good Day
The other day I was on LinkedIn, and I noticed that some people are using selfies as their profile photo. It might be OK for someone’s personal Facebook page, but not for LinkedIn. LinkedIn is all about business, not what you are eating for dinner or what game you’re playing.
People are looking at your profile and deciding whether they want to contact you. When you use an off-center, angled photo that looks like you took it while partying, you’re sending a message that you do not take your business seriously.
You have 5-9 seconds to grab someone’s attention and make an impression. What do you want your picture to say about you? What do you want your prospects, customers and others to think of when they see it? Remember, your photo reflects you, your company and your brand. Think about that.
Do you think this photo really projects a professional image?

You want to look your best. It’s your and your company’s image. Hire a professional photographer for a good head and shoulder photo. It is well worth the investment.
