Do It Cheap and Save Money??

I picked up the mail when I got home last night, and as I went through it, I saw there was an oversize post card from a major insurance company that is offering Medicare drug coverage to a friend who has not used our address in at least 10 years. This is the second company to send information to her.

One of the top banks in the country is still sending my father information to my home address, and he passed away over 5 year ago.

What does all this mean? It means that these companies bought cheap lists and like to waste money. This is also a good way to turn people off to using direct mail as a communication vehicle.

When used properly, direct mail is one of the best ways to contact and stay in contact with customers and prospects and not letting your competition know what you are doing until after you have contacted your customers.

When I purchase lists for my clients, I don’t buy the cheapest list that has never been updated. I purchase from a few companies that are always updating their lists, so that they are fresh. Also I run the list through the National Change of Address database. This way the list is up to date and money is not wasted.

So the next time you need a list of prospects, don’t go and buy a list just because it is cheap. Give me a call and I’ll help you get a fresh list that will really meet your needs.

Please note: April 19th-22nd I will be attending 2012 Marketing and Money Making SuperConference to learn the latest in cutting edge marketing methods so I can help you get more customers for your business.

Also the last Monday of each month I will be hosting ‘My Marketing Group’ from 11:30am – 1 pm at Panera Bread, 1804 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst. It’s free to attend. Contact me for more information.

 That’s all for now!

By the way, leave a comment.
