I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who reads these tips each week. If you are one of the people who email me or come up to me and tell me how much you enjoy and learned from these tips and I did not thank you then and there, I apologize for not thanking you. Please, I welcome your comment either in person or by email.
As always if you have a comment or a question that you would like answered, please email me.
This of course leads me to this week’s tip.
Saying Thank You.
As businesspersons, most of us do not take the time to thank people who help us grow our business. By saying thank you, you express your appreciation to people who go out of their way for you, and you’re also making them feel good for helping you. Isn’t that worth 5 minutes of your time?
Saying thank you does not have to be verbal. It can be, but most times I feel it’s better to say it in writing. The best is a handwritten note. (When was the last time you got a handwritten thank you note in the mail?) Sometimes you don’t have their address, just an email address. Then send them an email, and lastly call them and thank them verbally.
So some will say how about a thanks via Facebook. That might be OK for very general things. But let me ask you this: How would you feel if you referred a person or business who turned out to be a big customer to someone and they just said thanks on your personal Facebook page?
Here are a few of the occasions to say or send a thank you;
When you receive a referral
After a meeting with a prospect
After the 1st sale
After every sale
When someone sends you information
When someone helps you out
After meeting someone for the 1st time
These are just a few of the reasons to say thank you. If you have more, just send them to me. Also if you would like to learn how to say thank you so that you not only stand out from everyone else but are remembered fondly, then just let me know.
That’s all for now!
Please leave a comment.
