It’s the summer from …. So how’s your business doing?

How’s your summer going? As I write this, the stock market has gone down another 500 plus points, we’re at 40 days with over 100-degree temperatures and most people are not in a buying mood except for what they really need.

So what are you going to do to get business in the door?

Go back to the basics!

1st, profile your best clients – who are they, why do they buy from you and not your competition. What do they buy from you? What do they want and/or need? What is the best way to reach them?

Next, plan out what you want to offer, with budget.

Now you have to tell your story and it has to fit with the the best way they want to be contacted. It has to be done more than once, preferably at least 3 times.

Now comes the hardest part¬†You’ve got to just do it. Most people get stuck at this point. They don’t want to spend or – in their minds – possibly waste their money. They think, what happens if I don’t get the maximum sells that I want, or I get a low response rate or none at all? I’ll have wasted all that money, so I better not do anything.

¬†There is a old saying in marketing: There is no failure only testing. Which means that you have to track the result of your marketing efforts in great detail. This way you know marketing campaigns will give you a greater return on your invested dollars (R.O.I.D.), which is what you’re really doing. You’re investing in your business by marketing your business.
